Why We Need the Google Phone
The main problem with cell phones is that they don’t handle large amounts of data well. Want streaming video? - it’s too slow . Want to see a full view of a website ? - it’s too small. And the cost of those ‘data plans’ really sux. Even the so called 3G phones and enhanced transmission methods are still way too limited.
The other problem is that the current wireless carriers in the US are becoming reminiscent of the old wireline carriers. Back in that day, everyone had a horror story to share - particularly of the poor customer service. Eventually the ‘big phone’ company was broken up but now many years after the big bang, the phone universe is recombining into another large wireless conglomerate. We don’t want a repeat of the past but who of the wireless carriers left can really stand a chance against the ‘new big phone company’ ? History repeats and now a new generation will get to see first hand how poor customer service and choices can be.
Can Google somehow leapfrog to the next level of phone utopia ? Maybe, but it would be a huge and expensive task. We need a shift in the current state of business . More flexible plans. Plans that don’t require a Ph.D. to understand. No more hidden charges. Lawsuits anyone ? And if they could somehow provide a Google phone and service for free ?..
Now we’re talking ! Google, put me at the top of your list !
